So in your humble opinion, what's the most noob-friendly MMO?

I’ve been cheating on WoW. Whew, it feels good to get that off my chest. Please don’t tell! We’ve been together for a few years now, and while I still love him, I’ve just been… exploring my other options.

And those options were Star Wars: Galaxies(Human Jedi), EVE Online(Caldari), LotRO(Elf Hunter and Dwarf… person), and EQ2(Half Elf Wizard). Warhammer wouldn’t download.

And without my 80s, heirlooms, gold, and guild to back me up, (not to mention knowledge of the game) I’m a total noob. So here’s what impresses me as a noob in a brand new world…

1. Instanced Starting Areas: Holy… Talk about a way to draw a noob in. There’s nothing epicer than talking with Gandalf or Han Solo and making you feel ‘part of the world’. You’re important, you lil level one you!

2. Not Dying: Easy-mode while I figure out what I’m doing? Yes, please! WoW was really bad at this when I first started. Damn you, Defias! Damn you, murlocs! Damn y- "Release Spirit?"

3. Options: Face 1 or 2? How about customizing every feature? I want to be different than every other noob on this server! Also, I understand class and race restrictions, but I don’t like them. The first character I make will likely be my main, so I want to be able to choose the class that sounds the most fun BEFORE I buy your game, to see if it really is the most fun. The exception here would be races/classes that come with expansions, or have to be unlocked(Death Knights, anyone? No, you shouldn’t be able to skip all of Old Azeroth.)

4. Fast Setup: I don’t want to wait 4 hours to play your game. In those 4 hours I’m waiting, I could be playing and falling in love with a different game. Trial clients, anyone?

5.Help Me!: Tutorials, a "Noob Help Channel", and quests to learn your basic abilities are sexier than a really sexy thing.

And last but certainly not least,
6. Keep me interested!: So I’m level 10(or the equivelent). I’m learning, but it’s getting slow and grindy, and boring. (And I can do grindy and boring, I play WoW after all! ;D) Those easy quests just got way harder, and everything isn’t in the same general area anymore. I made it this far, but I can still turn back. I need a transition phase, from baby noob, to adolecent noob. Provide it, and I’m a happy camper. Leave me hanging and I wander around Stormwind for hours looking for Hogger. Games that failed this: WoW(back in TBC), SW:G, EVE (and I haven’t reached this point on the others yet. XD)

So what do you think? What makes a game noob-friendly? What game is noob-friendly? And what should I try next before my guild catches me and sends me back to the Citadel?
I don’t want all of them in one, read the title.

I’m just curious what other people think.

Like my friend, he only cares about pvp. That’s it. The earlier he can do it, the better.

Suggestions for DS games?

I’ve recently finished all the ace attorney series and now I’m looking for new DS games to play. I like games where you have tons of space to explore, games such as oblivion or fallout would be examples of what I mean, and yes I know those aren’t DS games I’m just giving an example. I also like games that are like MMO’s but are one player, such as Zenonia on the Ipod touch/Iphone. And I REALLY love games like the zelda series, but have played all the ones for the DS with the exception of spirit tracks, which doesn’t pique my interest [yes, I'll admit, the game looks pretty dumb...] and I obviously like ace attorney games. I also like the harvest moon games, HOWEVER, I’ve never been able to NOT cheat on those games because they are WAY too tedious for my liking >_>

these are all examples of the kinds of games I like so that you get an idea of what you might suggest.

but if you think there is an amazing game out there for the DS, let me know, I may just have to check it out.

why are guys surprised by girl gamers?

i was working on an english product in my school’s computer lab; my project partners were next to me, one playing Warcraft (for the first time ever, actually) and he kept asking me what to do…when i answered with plenty of information, two of the three were surprised – "wow, she knows like everything about these games except the cheats"

and last night, a friend in an MMO asked me if i was "a chick or a guy"

would YOU really be surprised? especially considering i go to the computer lab every day during my free periods.
and how many male gamers pose as females/choose to use female characters? specifically in MMOs, where they can be seen by others.
im actually waiting for a [male] gamer to ask me about something like periods or girls nights etc….i think i’d particularly like being asked about periods, because i really can answer that well. ya know, personal experience and all

Im asking because sadly my bro. uses a Third Party Sftware and cheats while I play the game legitly. Im hoping that program will end SOON (does anyone know anything about MMO Glider software). Well we both have seperate accounts and seperate computers. Does anyone know if it is a possibilty for me to be banned.

Asking for hacks, illegal on Yahoo?

I think it should be illegal to ask for hacks on Yahoo Answers, being that it’s illegal on the actual sites. It just seems like everyone asks for Gaiaonline hacks, not realising what kind of impact it has on the actual marketplace.
Or asking for RS accounts for sale.
Or WoW
Or cheat Engine.
Or…(goes on with an eternal list of MMO hack requests)

Is it possible on an MMO, to..?

To hack server side games, like "Dream of Mirror Online".
I know that with Cheat Engine and things like that, you can change the values to APPEAR like they are higher, but the fact is that it’ll just be that, appearing that way.
Is there any way to actually change the real values on the server side of the game?

Final Fantasy XI, Online MMO?

Is this game an online MMO game? or what is it, because a report I read about it said someone was selling a hack-cheat device for the game, and it was giving certain players unfair advantages over other players, well the only FF game I played was Tactics, and you couldn’t even have 2 players, and even if you could have..8 players..i dont see how a hack device would matter unless there was online play, and even if it was online play, it would have to be an MMo for it to matter because othewise you aren’t capable of progression, and if theres no progression, no one cares.

So, FF XI is an MMO? :O
