There are lots of good games for the DS.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215- A sort of crime/visual novel type game. If you liked Ace Attorney I’m pretty sure you’ll like this.
The World Ends With You- A great JRPG, with lots of customizable options and a great story.
Devil Survivor- Another great JRPG with many different endings.
Ragnarok DS- Just like the MMO, except on the DS.

Final Fantasy games are quite fun.
I recommend you get a R4, allows you to download any games on it so you can try out any game you wish.

Well as a fellow Zelda fan I can understand how u feel about spirit tracks and I will say I thought the exact same thing when I saw it. But if ur still apprehensive about try renting a copy first before making a final desicion
